"Sunday in the Park"
Temple Terrace Sunday in the Park will be held Sunday, November 22, 2009, in Woodmont Park, 415 Woodmont Avenue, Temple Terrace, 12:00-4:00 p.m. Begun in 2004, this family day in the park focuses on public education of the environment and gardening and also includes vendors and public service displays. There will be entertainment in the gazebo, opportunity drawing, games and crafts for youngsters and Santa will arrive during the afternoon.
All proceeds from this event will benefit “Sincerely, Santa,” a charitable organization which provides Christmas gifts to needy children in Hills-borough County.
TTGC is seeking educational exhibits related to environmental issues and gardening as well as vendors selling crafts, gifts, jewelry, ceramics, pottery and holiday items. For vendor/exhibitor information, click here and complete the form.
Since 2006, all proceeds from this annual event have gone to "Sincerely, Santa," an organization which fills wish lists of children taken into Hills-borough County DCFS protective custody at Christmas time. These 300 + children come into the system after schools break for the holiday and their wish lists are not available for mall shoppers to fill. All children who are referred, regardless of race or religious affiliation, are treated equally.
