As the current Conservation and
Environmental Chair of the Sweetwater Oaks
Garden Club in Central Florida, I am opening this
web log (blog)l to inform our members about matters
of educational interest in the realms of conservation and environment.
Both members and readers who are non-members are invited to leave
comments, ones to inform us as well as those that will stimulate a
conversation that will be educational as we strive to increase our
knowledge in conservation and ecology, and as we strive as stewards
to do an increasingly better job to conserve, protect, and understand
the needs of our earth, its soil, rivers, oceans, air, living beings,
animals and plants. Just click on the calendar's indicated entry dates
to access entries.
(A request: if you are a club member and leave a note, please add your
first name or initials at the end, especially if you want me to answer
something or reply in some way.)
We live in Central Florida, which means in these entries we will put a
special emphasis on our very particular eco-system.
I am not serving this year as our conservation and environmental chair
because I am an expert in these areas. To the contrary, I am here to
learn and share what I have learned. I'll be searching for information
of interest in magazines, journals, groups, lectures, as well as writings
on this topic from the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs,
and National Garden Clubs, Inc.
