Fundraising
One of the most important functions of any club is raising funds so they can support their projects and expenses. Some of the worthwhile projects we support are the Rose Gardens at the Ravine Gardens State Park, Scholarships for college students, our two Blue Star Memorial Markers, and Camp Wekiva. Additionally, we are faced with the upkeep and maintenance of our historic (and aging) log cabin clubhouse. And, members of the Garden Club of Palatka manage to have a lot of fun while they do this!
Palatka kicked the year off in fund raising with the August Harvest Festival at the Log Cabin Farm, Vineyard and Winery in Satsuma. Carol Waters, District IV Director, spent the day with club members, enjoying the festival and encouraging us in our endeavor. She is pictured at the club’s tent which housed the plant and craft sale with Thelma Elder (L) and President Lou Motley (R).
